About us

Resolutely of its time, APPAREIL reflects the mindful, modern outlook and personal lifestyle of founder Natacha Le Jeune. Former model and musician, based in Paris, Natacha Le Jeune acquired an idiosyncratic and very personal eye for fashion through her personal experiences as a dancer, DJ and performer.

Believing style to be an indispensable creative area for freedom of expression, she has created a look that is minimal and, de-gendered.

In her musical career, the former dancer who studied at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and singer who fronted the renowned bands AS Dragon and Oh La La, Le Jeune was always driven by a mixture of raw energy, sophistication and gender fluidity. That same energy animated the launch of APPAREIL, Le Jeune’s first line of silk shirts.

APPAREIL manifests a philosophy of “mindful minimalism”: being a single product collection, of oversized shirts for both men and women, made from responsibly sourced materials. The versatile silhouettes of the shirts are inspired by time-honored classics.

The concise, precisely tailored collection combines, aesthetically speaking, the rigor of line and playful takes on color, pattern and fabrics. A semi spread collar and patch pocket give APPAREIL shirts a distinctive allure, with playful takes on color and pattern experimentation.

With timeless cuts and color palettes, the APPAREIL shirt is a stand alone piece in its own right that spells effortless chic.

By repurposing "deadstock" vintage silk from premium Italian manufacturers, APPAREIL is able to produce a collection that is both sustainable and exceptional in quality.
